HowToPay POS is a cloud-managed POS system designed for real store operations. It supports remote setup and updates, kitchen workflows, multi-store usage, tax and receipt handling, and high-volume daily selling scenarios.

I joined the Flutter app after the initial build and worked on the harder engineering problems: sync reliability, race conditions, automated operational flows, and performance bottlenecks affecting staff-facing productivity.

My Role

Core contributor focused on sync reliability, performance optimization, and day-to-day operational workflows.

My Contributions

  • Engineered offline-to-online and online-to-offline sync flows to preserve dependable order and operational state across unstable network conditions.
  • Resolved scheduled-order queue race conditions and order-sync issues that were affecting consistency under concurrency.
  • Implemented automatic cash-shift close at midnight, reducing manual overhead and store-side errors.
  • Fixed memory lag, long loading indicators, frozen screens, and slow floor-plan or existing-order views in high-data scenarios.
  • Contributed to core POS workflows across sales, inventory, multi-store operations, transaction handling, and reporting.
